I think kissing can communicate attitudes a lot more affectively than your thumb wrestling method. A simple peck on the cheek can say, "Hey, I like you but not that much." Where an intense and aggressive kiss can convey the attitude of, "I am really mad at you, but man you are hot and even though I am mad at you I still want to have sex with you." Look I can go on all day with how kissing is a far better form of communication than thumb wrestling, but I will not because I hate beating a dead horse (which strangely enough is another very useful form of communication).
